The Oscar Bossaert school is situated near Koekelberg in the city of Brussels. Given that the existing layout of the school had a qualitative configuration our design team opted for a renovation strategy that would underline the existing qualities of the building and make sure the renovation would be as sustainable as possible.

Accordingly, the existing facades are reinstated to their former elegance and extended with a multifunctional greenhouse comprising an educational garden and urban farming area. In this way our design promotes a proactive education about food production and the cycles of nature for children and neighborhood alike.
