Flemish government cabinets – Kreupelenstraat

As part of the broader renovation of the Flemish cabinet buildings at Martyr’s Square—an 18th-century neoclassical ensemble—LOW Architecten transformed the government building on Kreupelenstraat into a bright, open, and fully accessible workspace.

A more transparent façade strengthens the connection with the city, while the reorganization of the staircase and floor levels enhances circulation and inclusivity. These carefully planned interventions not only restore the building’s heritage value but also integrate sustainability and flexibility, setting a precedent for the future of government architecture.
