The design for the new Oncological Center for the UZ Leuven at Campus Gasthuisberg revolves around the spatial idea of a healing environment encouraging faster recovery of patients.

Therefor our design features precisely planned voids in its volume opening the urban tissue, hence creating intimate visual connection with the surrounding greenery.

In this way the building accommodates a fluid layout, balancing a combination of social interaction, privacy, connection to nature and comfortable light conditions increasing the wellbeing of patients and employees.
