The research complex O&N5+6 consists of three buildings commissioned by KU Leuven’s Faculty of Biomedical Sciences and is situated in Leuven.

From an urbanistic point of view the three volumes are built around an inner courtyard performing as the agora of the research facility, well integrated into a wider masterplan of AWG.

The facades of each building interact in their expression with the inner arrangement of laboratories and daylight exposure achieved by a custom-made sunscreen system. All vertical circulations are placed on the outer perimeter of the building, thus creating a fully flexible and lively research environment.
