This existing school ensemble in Beersel is in its configuration outdated and in dire need of renovation.

Firstly the existing complex from the 1960s can be preserved through some minor interventions as well as restructuring and lends itself well as a kindergarten due to its clustered classrooms. Therefore the cafeteria is moved to a more central location on the site and replaced by a multifunctional hall.

Additionally, the new primary school is oriented inwards and connected to the cafeteria by a sheltering canopy, thus embracing the shared outdoor space. The playgrounds and greenery turn it into one coherent campus.
